   @BernieDoesIt I don't see it that way at all. I rebuilt 1/3 of my follower count from :birdsite: in a year and already had an order of magnitude more engagement then. Now 3 years later I have over 75% of the count and they're almost all real ppl not bots.

   Rather, fedi is social network for ppl who want to choose how they use it, rather than be manipulated into perceptions of what's relevant and successful serving the platform owner's interests.

     This afternoon I thought "The Fediverse is social media for people who don't want to have followers," and I think there's a lot of truth to that.
