@thomasfuchs my kids are still pretty young and they're both bursting to the brim with creativity and voraciously read everything they can lay their hands on. They have no access to LLMs beyond simple Siri commands and I'm hoping that I can keep it that way long enough for the bubble to pop and this dreck stops getting pushed into literally everything.

@thomasfuchs As a former teacher, in some ways I'm happy to see academia get a real shake up. All those movies about whimsical professors who ignore the curriculum and teach their students critical thinking are now something that should actually happen.
While I don't want say that facts aren't important for learning, memorization and regurgitation doesn't produce critical thinkers. Better to teach them analysis and research skills so they understand how to verify a fact instead of just reciting whatever ChatGPT told them.
