   @lispi314 @maxime_andre @nasser @neauoire Implementing rendering is up to the client and there doesn't seem to be any clients that do framebuffer rendering in a compatible way.

     but software rendering is already on its way out, everyone is moving to wayland

     Wayland has software rendering though.

     That is of course orthogonal to your preference for X11's API.
