     @stevendbrewer Ernie would think Tanuki-chan is missing out. Leaves are Ernie’s favourite thing. If other dogs have peed on them that would only make them even more interesting to him.

     He tries to catch falling leaves, chases wind blown leaves, pounces on piles of leaves and does an Ali shuffle with his paws on leaves when they refuse to move.

     @Broadfork I told my wife that Tanuki-chan loves leaf piles.

     "Oh, good," she said. "I'm glad she's gotten to play in leaf piles."

     "Play?" I said. "Oh, no. She just loves to pee on them."
