You don't see me saying AI can reliably write a computer program from scratch based on a prompt because it can't.
For that you still need a human.
However the set of all human-only tasks is shrinking.

@judgedread Theres an open source Chinese model that can kind of do simple programs, webpages and such but its clunky and requires human intervention. That's the best one Ive messed with so far.
On the other hand it can play tabletop rpg games with you so thats fun.

@ins0mniak The more general problem is length of task. Consumer grade AI services tap out beyond very short term projects.
This is easy to see in video generation where it can't maintain continuity without constant human fine tuning.

@judgedread The videos making fun of local news are fantastic. I love that the idiots in the media think everyone is so stupid that they have to mark everything as being "AI GENERATED"
like....Trump skydiving with a martini in his hand isn't real?

@ins0mniak The Adventures of Reemo Green by Neural Viz, creators of attached clip, is best AI generated film I've seen.

@judgedread Thank goodness tho that ubiquitous AI wasn't around during the days of Q-anon. Shit would have sent those boomers into the stratosphere.
