   @mike Probably the same reason you *still* can't snap windows to half-screen/full-screen etc.

     Why is Time Machine incapable of deleting old backups to make room for new backups? Isn’t that supposed to just happen by default without any intervention?

     Time Machine was introduced 17 years ago.
