Not only are their German hosts stepping up-- and ye gods, thank you Germany for that-- but the clowns in charge here are not even mentioning everything service members are doing for each other. I'm sure Hegseth has no idea WTF anybody is doing.
The second half of this article describes the troops' own mutual aid efforts in Germany, which should also not be necessary. Gotta wonder what kind of conversations are going on with people who voted for this.
