      @RaHoWaJoe @coin @StoleMyThundersBalls @Victor_Emmanuel @milk I mean, I think the whole article is probably insanely biased:

      "There were many soldiers serving in the Union armies who were Jewish, and it did not seem to be right to be fighting for a country that was expelling their own people"

      Bruh, they were 0.2% AT BEST of the population.

      @StoleMyThundersBalls @Victor_Emmanuel @coin @milk Grant kicked them out of the northern states for selling arms to both sides and instigating further conflicts.

      @Victor_Emmanuel @coin @milk There are only a handful of countries that haven't kicked them out even once like America, Canada, India and Australia.

      @milk People like to throw the number out like it's meaningful. But have they checked which countries, like the names in a list kicked the Jews out? Weren't many of them just city states of balkanized Germany?

      @coin @RaHoWaJoe @StoleMyThundersBalls @Victor_Emmanuel @milk I mean that's an interesting question; but not relevant to what is at hand - if we assume the same rate as normal americans, that's still 2 out of every 1000 soldiers, so "many" is just incorrect. 4200 total if you assumed normal participation ( and this number is probably high )

      @RaHoWaJoe @StoleMyThundersBalls @Victor_Emmanuel @milk @sickburnbro I meant per capita out of the Jewish population how many of them served. It not correct to compare vs general pop.

      @coin @sickburnbro @StoleMyThundersBalls @Victor_Emmanuel @milk Well, I can tell you I saw ***1*** jewish name at the Gettysburg cemetery. So like 0.00001% of the army sounds about right.
