A lot of areas have weird requirements on where you build a garage, some won’t even let you put up a temporary one, but I’ve never seen a restriction for a greenhouse.

@BowsacNoodle ACTUALLY I BET IT WOULD BE A PAIN IN THE ASS TO BUILD A CAR-SIZE CATTLE PANEL HOOPHOUSE.
A SINGLE HOOP SPAN THAT SIZE WOULD BE TOO WOBBLY

@WandererUber No, this is a greenhouse friend. I just want to reduce my heckin carbon dioxide and save the eartherino. Very wholesome :). Thinking how nice this would be at 8:00AM on a January day where it’s 10+ degrees warmer inside with hopefully no frost.

@BowsacNoodle I don't think they're letting you off the hook that easy, most restrictions are for permanent structures, which this is

@nugger What about building triangles inverted a few feet from the peak to force a greater bend at the top? You could even make a row of them on the top using electrical conduit with zip ties to hold them in place while you’re adding load. A few inches of dowel hammered in to end and drilled through dowel to make a cotter pin setup using zip ties that are looped so that the loops can be turned into a pull point for static load roof shaping. Ends could be crimped to further resist metal sheer.

@BowsacNoodle I THINK IT'S STILL DOABLE IF YOU CAN MANAGE SOME REINFORCEMENT
A 2X4 CAR-SIZED DOOR FRAME EVERY SPAN OF PANEL, DOUBLE PANELS MEETING AT THE TOP
OR SOME SORT OF GOTHIC ARCH THING OUT OF TWO PANELS WITH BRACING AT THE APEX

@BowsacNoodle Where I used to live, almost everybody's garages were "pole barns". Structures with no foundation, mounted on poles for a frame. That, or pay thousands in fees and permits to lay a proper foundation and slabs. Fucking kike bureaucracy even out in Buttfuck Egypt.

@BowsacNoodle When I was still an urban fag, the city came by and made me teardown a permanent greenhouse attached to my garage citing city ordinance to claim it was too close to my neighbor's house or some shit - fire hazard I guess? Thing had been part of my house since it was built in the 80s too.

@RapistGoku We are blessed to have nearly retired IDGAF folks to help with such things.

@BowsacNoodle There were a few silver linings.
First, they were about to make me bring my whole ass garage up to code but some little old lady who about to retire got me grandfathered in.
Also, I moved to the middle of nowhere and build what I want now. I just got a new greenhouse put up actually 🥂
