@vii @bajax @f0x @hakui @nerthos I think the South wouldn't bother me as much if I had never lived in Appalachia. You know, it's full of motherfuckers that'd starve to death if they lost their Sam's Club membership. Like where I am right now, it's the exact definition, it's like a Walmart Colonial Outpost, right, a barren expanse of urban hicks. People that actually would end up eating the bugs, like, very consoomer of new product because nothing is created here. You get a high degree of individual autonomy in the right city (LA, Houston seemed that way, I imagine you wouldn't be where you are unless it were true of your region) or in the countryside (where it doesn't matter if people think you're weird because you don't see too many of them), but you don't really get it in most of the South, where a lot of it is too dense to do anything cool but not dense enough to support a Best Buy, let alone a Micro Center.
