   Do I love what Mamdani is saying? Yes.

   But I'm never going to have hope again after Obama. I know how this likely ends, and when Mamdani gets a taste of the wealth his position can provide him, he'll almost certainly compromise his stated principles.

     I just keep thinking of James Baldwin warning about The Devil and saying that “whatever looked easy [or easiest] was almost certainly a trap.” (No, I don’t mean that Mamdani himself is The Devil, of course. It’s the fucking systems I’m referring to.)
