@janl for many people it may not be
for myself, well, it’s in a place where I know I can find it *when* I want to find it again
part of my problem perhaps is too many interests, and I don’t want to give any of them up. Notes on making a chorus circuit with a weird karaoke chip? Some Rust game engine that someone I respect recommended? *sigh* some sort of frontend thing? Notes on a new type of dataviz? Well, there may well be a day when I wish I could come back to that
keeping tabs open had been my default because I didn’t have anywhere else to put them; what I did over the past few days was *make* places to put them. Obsidian also has a cool web clipper extension that renders whole web pages to markdown, and then I can link those notes to project or area pages
Will it be useful to put all those into notes? I don’t know, but if it’s useful even 1/100th of a time it’s worth it to me, especially since I’m of the sort where I’ll end up searching for an answer to a question only to find that the only other person to ask it was me, ten years previously
I don’t really have a nice way to search/organize/index open browser tabs. I do have a really nice way to do all that with markdown files
