   I hate to see history disappear simply for greed, so I can’t cheer the Louvre heist. If it had just been money or gold, I would hope they’re never caught. If the wealthy aren’t subject to the rule of law, there is none, so why should I care? But to steal art is to steal from humanity.

   I don’t care if they’re ever caught, but I do hope the historical treasures are recovered.

     @davidtoddmccarty I read that first sentence and thought you'd be talking about another piece of history being destroyed for greed. In a way, you are, as the damn motive is the same.

     @WarnerCrocker I was almost despondent by that at first and then i thought, “You know what? Maybe we’ll just have to burn it down and start over.”

     There’s only so much fumigation you can do.
