   @fnat Centralized proprietary services are quite good at censorship and damage, as there is no possible way to route around the damage by using such services.
   
   Only overlay networks like tor, i2p and GNUnet can route around damages.

     I know I shouldn't be surprised, but what pisses me off of the #AWS thing is that various UK-specific services and pieces of digital infrastructure (that I need to carry out my work) are down - because of an outage of a non-UK company in another country!

     It doesn't sound like what the internet was supposed to be, does it. Something something "routes around damage"... Hrm.
