@thomasfuchs I've noticed that it ebbs and flows.

We started with desktop apps.
Then web came along and gave us server apps.
Then mobile came along and suddenly we wanted native apps again.
Then client side web apps got good.
And now we stick those web apps inside desktop wrappers so that neckbeards with 64GB of RAM have something to whine about when they look at their otherwise unused system resources.
