   I mean, that’s a town not a mountain ? but I always pronounce that as Llanfair PG. I grew up in Wales, so have an affinity for the “why can’t we use our own language” nature of this decision

     With the exception of Llanfairpwll-gwyngyllgogerychwyrndrob-wllllantysiliogogogoch which the English refer to as just:
     "Llanfairpwll"

     @Gargron It's always been called that, it's just that the Welsh have decided to use their own language first rather than English. Most other mountains in Wales don't use have English version, so it's always seemed odd to me that Snowdon was the exception...

     Mount #Snowdon in #Wales is RENAMED Yr Wyddfa & Snowdonia National Park becomes Eryri after authorities adopted the #Welsh titles in response to petition signed by just 5,000 people. Just dumb! ?
