   This is now my third, hopefully last, new instance on the fedi - so new #intro I suppose.
   
   I'm Steve, a gay man living/working in Chicago USA with my queer family. I'm a former biker, Queer Nation member, and HIV activist.
   
   In my past life, I worked in #theater as a stage manager, master electrician, and technical director. But the past ~20 yrs, I've worked in technology as network architect and engineer and now as a #cybersecurity tech leader - and am known as the grumpy guy at conferences who calls out dissembling acronyms and tech magic BS.
   
   I have cats - I regular post picts of.
   
   I have sat of the BoD of various gay/queer organizations, including theaters, Leather and BDSM clubs.
   
   I regularly volunteer for various organizations fighting for bodily autonomy and freedom for women, trans, and other, queer folk. So terf rhetoric will not be tolerated.

     @Steve "bodily autonomy" nigga you have AIDS. Your own reckless hedonism has raped your genome. Left to its own devices, your body would melt like the dudes in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The only reason you are still alive is because that bastard nigger Obama forces me to pay for you to eat pills that cost $2000 a month. I will never be able to afford to have children, nor will anyone under 40. That is a large part of why everything, especially healthcare, costs so fucking much now.
     
     Read this again: themost powerful, most wealthy, most advanced nation ever to exist in the history of humanity has decided that the majority of its people just don't deserve to have a future because it would be too sad if you had to face the consequences of your behavior. You should be thanking normal people every day. Instead, you are so selfish, so vile, so toxic, and so evil and so raped in the head that all you do is make up slurs to call people who think maybe you should slow down slightly on your self-destructive behavior.
     
     There are a lot of reasons civilization is dying, and one of the biggest reasons is because you, personally, refuse to take any accountability or exert any self-control, you're a narcissist and a glutton. The world would improve instantly if you killed yourself btw. You should kill yourself.

     @Steve That's not even mentioning that gay people also have to take broad-spectrum antibiotics forever, and that's absolutely worse than taking $2000 a month from me.
     
     Antibiotic development shut down completely in 1998 because it's not profitable to make them, since the more you use them, the less benefit you get from them. Without an active development pipeline, it's only a matter of time until all existing antibiotics become completely useless. Penicillin saved millions of lives when it was first discovered, but is now useless 100 years later. Genes that cause antibiotic resistance already exist in the wild. Bacteria in Antarctic deposits that have been frozen for 20,000 years have been discovered with plasmids that make them resistant to amoxicillin.
     
     See this chart? 1 million people died in 2020 from antibiotic resistant bacteria, and by 2025 that will be 10 million people a year, more than currently die from cancer, and that is 100% YOUR FAULT. Factory farms aren't even allowed to use antibiotics in their livestock anymore. It's just you. 10 million people a year because you refuse to keep it in your pants.
