     Er kam Stunden später mal vorbei und wollte wissen, was ich mache. Ich habe das Excel gezeigt mit dem Hinweis, die verbleibende Zeit zwischen den Excel Aktionen reiche nicht mehr zum arbeiten. Die Zeit, die ich damit verbracht habe, ihm zu erklären, was ich für einen Unsinn machen muss, habe ich natürlich auch entsprechend vermerkt.

     Wie krank und blöd kann man eigentlich sein? (2/2)

     @mina @monkee Ich hatte mal einen, der auf die Minute genau wissen wollte, was ich tat und deshalb ein Protokoll führen sollte. Ich habe also jede Minute eine Zeile in ein Excel Sheet gestopft, in der stand “Excel öffnen, diese Zeile mit Datum und Uhrzeit eintragen, Excel schliessen”. (1/2)

     Ich hatte mal einen Chef, da musste ich quasi alle 10 Minuten dokumentieren, was ich getan habe.

     @monkee @mina Ja, das sind Kontrollfreaks. Wenn ich nicht arbeite, merkt man das in absehbarer Zeit durchaus.

     Das Ganze wird dann mit dem Begriff soziales Miteinander garniert. Sorry, ich bin ein Einzelgänger und arbeite lieber für mich in Ruhe und ohne Störungen. Und ja, ich kommuniziere, wo nötig, beschränke mich aber auch Sachliches.

     Soweit zum Thema, man nehme Rücksicht auf Individuen. Ist in jeder Firma der gleiche Quatsch.

     Der Trugschluss:
     Anwesenheit = Arbeit
     Abwesenheit = Faulheit

     Als ich vor Urzeiten mal beim Staat gearbeitet hatte, meinte da einer: "Was du nicht aufgeschrieben hast ist nie passiert."

     Ich vermute das ist was ähnliches mit Anwesenheitspflicht. Damit die Chefs "sehen" das du was "leistest".

     @mina I never enjoyed commuting. As a kid, I had to take the bus to school. That bus ride was about an hour. Two lost hours per day. 😔

     When I gew up, I had to commute to the company for decades. Again, more than two lost hours per day. There is no such thing as enjoying a quiet train ride. It's a stressful bullshit tour.

     The paper work, which isn’t paper work anymore, in my job is very little. I spend my 98% of my time on technical stuff. And yes, I could do all of it from home.

     True.

     Though, IMHO, most of the jobs that can be done from home, which require wearing a suit or mainly consist in looking at papers and screens and pressing buttons are #bullshitJobs anyway.

     Includes 90% (and definitely the best paid ones) of the jobs I have done in my life.

     That said: I always enjoyed my train commutes to and from work. Quality time for having a coffee and reading.

     @mina @pmj Die meisten Leute werden befördert, bis sie mit ihrer Unfähigkeit den grösstmöglichen Schaden anrichten. Das wäre auch kein Problem als Test der Fähigkeit einer Person. Das Problem ist, sobald Unfähigkeit festgestellt wird, müsste die Person wieder eine Stufe degradiert werden, um wieder zurück in eine Position zu kommen, die sie auch erfolgreich ausfüllen kann. Und genau das passiert eben leider nicht. Deshalb gibt es so viele Idioten in falschen Positionen.

     In this, we're different.

     Even in the crowded London Tube, I could use the time for my leisure.

     On the other hand: I need the physical separation between work place and living space. Without it, I find it very hard to decouple them.

     I also tremendously value in-person contact with work mates or clients.

     In short: Remote work is definitely not my cup of tea.
