   @slothrop@chaos.social I don't see the point of not engaging free software projects just because of the author(s).
   
   Isn't the point of free software that you can just take it and use it and fork for any purpose so don't have to care about what the author thinks?

     It’s gotten to the point where we have to treat Free Software projects like we treat metal bands: before engaging, always check if they’re Nazis.

     Can’t say I appreciate this state of affairs.

     @vic@shitpost.cloud I find not working together with someone because of their gender identity very toxic behavior.
     
     But indeed it is true, with free software working together is optional not a requirement. You don't have to commit upstream.

     I use software written by trannies. Not explicitly by choice, but I'm not going to avoid all of Linux because of it. Turns out they're still autists and a lot of them still write pretty good code. A lot of them write really shitty code, too, but that's no different from anyone else.

     Now, working with them is a different story. No thanks.
