     three of the movies it recommended were initally Children of Men (2006), Dr Strangelove (1964) and Network (1976) but i already seen those, and they're all great. so it replaced 3, 4 and 5 on the original list.

     yeah, and i only ever ask the bots stupid questions like that.

     @ivor it's in german. the bot gave me a translated name. the actual name of the film is "Das Leben der Anderen"

     it's pretty good. i'm about half way through.

     @erpablillo i've *read* 1984. the film adaptation is pretty good too, but a bit whitewashed compared to the book (not as bad as the play from the 1960s).
