@dlakelan looks like it survives about a week in dried blood. Survives a little longer in porous surfaces. Probably could get a place up and running again in 2 weeks, and if you nuked the rooms with the UV robots we used in other outbreaks, that would probably help. Getting the public and HCWs to trust it though…

I spent days talking with ER staff, going over papers and safety data and how mRNA vaccines work, in 2020, so that folks would feel comfortable getting the shots.

Do you know how long Ebola is viable on surfaces? I dont, and I know in small scale you'd decontaminate with bleach or similar, but wonder how long it would take to simply seal a facility and wait.

Funding foreign aid to contain Ebola outbreaks is extremely cost effective. If a single unrecognized Ebola patient is hospitalized in a busy urban hospital for a few days before it is recognized, we will spend tens of millions of dollars isolating and treating everyone who was at risk, containing the waste from that operation, and decontaminating the hospital, not to mention having to find a temporary replacement for the services that hospital used to provide.
