@m0xEE @kaia @foxhkron A few years ago I had a Macintosh SE FDHD and it could almost instantaneously load System 6.0.8 from its 20MB hard disk. Even loading from floppy was super fast. kaia likes this. -

Sadly SSDs were an excuse to make software more bloated, sometimes I power on my olde PowerMac G5 and boot equally olde Mac OS X Tiger — and it happens in mere seconds as if was booting from an SSD, except… It has nothing of the sort in it — it's just a "spinning rust" hard drive and an old one to boot. And 10.4 was already a pretty complex operating system, I don't think it can't do anything modern operating systems can. -
