     @m0xEE @kaia @foxhkron A few years ago I had a Macintosh SE FDHD and it could almost instantaneously load System 6.0.8 from its 20MB hard disk. Even loading from floppy was super fast.

     Sadly SSDs were an excuse to make software more bloated, sometimes I power on my olde PowerMac G5 and boot equally olde Mac OS X Tiger — and it happens in mere seconds as if was booting from an SSD, except… It has nothing of the sort in it — it's just a "spinning rust" hard drive and an old one to boot. And 10.4 was already a pretty complex operating system, I don't think it can't do anything modern operating systems can.
