    Speaking truth

    She's not in the party in power

    That can be fixed

    You assholes better fucking vote in 2026

    Give her the majority so she can marry some action to her words

      @benroyce @painting_squirrel @mloxton @McD1979 Nice story, but wrong.
      They just couldn't bring themselves to vote for a black woman.
      The margin wasn't all that much but it was insurmountable in racist America.

      @painting_squirrel @mloxton @McD1979

      too many leftists look at game theory and go "what's the maximum strategy to make sure we lose, as long as i get to tell myself i'm good person, be damned reality and the wider world"

      the left has a serious serious impotency, ineffectuality problem

      the primary culprits are

      1. mindless cynicism: assume the worst possible scenario and call it our reality

      2. appeal to perfection: can't do a damn thing unless angels are singing the holiest of holies

      In gaming there's the adage "make them have it", i.e. if your opponent has a clear way to victory, you should still make them go through the motions, because they might make a mistake (or roll double-1s or whatever).

      If the fascists' plan is to rig the election, they should be forced to actually attempt it and people should make it as hard for them as possible, simply so that there remains a chance, no matter how small, that they fail.

      @McD1979

      Kinda a dumb no sequitur, My Dude

      If you turn out and the election is rigged, you still have a chance
      If you turn out and the entire election is cancelled, you made your point
      If you turn out and aliens swoop in, blow the planet up after sticking a probe up every cis guys central orifice, then at least you had your moment

      If you don't turn out, none of the above makes one bit of difference because you ceded the damn election anyway

      @benroyce That is also presuming we have an election and that the election is not rigged.
