     IT'S OFFICIAL: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and New York City have formed the Northeast Public Health Collaborative.

     The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.

     It is consistent with, but not predictive of.

     I track the potential Balkanization of the US as part of futures studies, and this kind of bloc formation around critical issues is one of the milestones.

     So, yes, this is one of the milestones, but a milestone doesn't assert that the country *will* break up.
