@TrevorGoodchild I just watched the assassination video for the maybe 15th time. Immediately his body wretches into a seized position. The only way this happens is if it hit his spinal cord, right? Lots of blood loss, but there isn't enough to warrant total brain death or anything that would cause limbs to seize like that. It had to have hit and destroyed his spinal cord, right? or am I retarded? -

@A39IsTOZ8SJIr2oM2y.graf@poa.st @TrevorGoodchild A bullet to the neck has more damage than just the hole - there's also a resulting shockwave all through the neck, shredding blood vessels, veins and arteries and yes the spinal cord.
It looks like he got a hole right through his jugular vein, which tends to rapidly lead to total brain death.
Most shots to the neck are lethal - there have only been a few cases where no major vein or artery got punctured too badly and medical care was immediately administered, resulting in survival. -

@graf @MaleGoddess @Sideshow_Jane @TrevorGoodchild if you want some extra context for neck shots, American soldiers who were stationed on bases in Iraq and Afghanistan were being shot in the neck by snipers for a few reasons: it was incredibly painful, you don't die right away and other soldiers had to see their brother bleed out in front of them with no way to apply first aid, and it struck fear into the hearts of our soldiers who now had to go on the watchtowers to replace them after hearing the horror stories. you'd see a lot of them moving around erratically whenever patrolling on a tower and protecting their neck with their M4 stock. they'd hold the butt of the gun up to their neck in hopes that at least they stood a chance

@MaleGoddess @Sideshow_Jane @TrevorGoodchild if I had a single 308 round, whether it be hollowpoint, scatterpoint or any other point and I only had the one shot I would 100% take the neck because the brain you can't assume a hit because at 200 yards it might not have the power to piece the bone. neck is a squishy target. i would 100% choose the jugular with a 308+ -

No one aims for the neck though. They were either aiming for the chest or head. Chest has all the vital organs, and head of course will kill.
Shooter was probably waiting for a clean head shot.
People get shot in the neck and survive. This shooter was lucky to hit the spine.
A conversation I had with a sniper way back when, he said he would aim for the medulla oblongata. A hit there would cause everything to seize. That's like center of the face if head on I think. -

I wouldn't say a pro, but definitely someone who spent time behind a trigger.
The shooter was 125-200m away. If they were aiming for the head or center mass, that's at least 8 inches off target. -

@MaleGoddess @Sideshow_Jane @TrevorGoodchild nah borther we analyzed it in VC. there are 37 frames between when he lowers his mic from blocking his neck where the entrance wound is and where the bullet enters his neck. the person who fired the shot was waiting for him to lower the mic so it didnt deflect. this was 100% pro -

@graf @TrevorGoodchild Whatever it was it seems like a pro hit, came from 200 yards. Just one shot and done, didn't fire again 'just in case', already knew the first shot was gold.
There must be security cams all over that campus, yet (unless I've missed it) there's been no 'help us find this person' stills released. -

I don't think they aimed for necks, that's just where they got hits on tissue.
One guy was in the guard tower and his goggles fell over his face. The sniper hit him in the back of the helmet and broke the goggle strap.
Another guy had a bullet hit inside his helmet, wrapped around back and flew out the other side.
Then one guy got hit in the neck, carotid artery. Blood sprayed everywhere, the guy next to him pulled out a maxi pad and applied pressure, but forgot to pull it out of the wrapper. Medic was over there in seconds. Everyone was for certain this guy was dead.
Our medic was a miracle worker. Did his magic, and like a week later the dude was back out there in his blood stained armor. He even turned down his purple heart, I didn't know you could do that.BowserNoodle ☦️ likes this. -
