I've heard archive.org has a *ton* of old radio programs. I should check out The Shadow sometime. It was kind of a proto-batman (or possibly a knockoff-batman - batman is crazy old!) that my stepdad liked a lot.
Man, suddenly so many memories of listening to 40s radio shows in the early 90s. :)

Sounds like it'd be good family viewing for me. I haven't watched any TV with my mom in over a year since she had her health problems and lost most of her vision. That's a movie that can be enjoyed communally and not just visually.

Also, I don't know if you know Fred Gwynne (the judge). He was a TV personality from the black and white era. He was in "Car 54 Where Are You?" (police comedy), and The Munsters.

Haha, I'm mid 30s but that kind of always breaks my head, is time quantised, or is it smoothly flowing, it always makes me weird myself out thinking about :p

@sotolf @RL_Dane Yesss arch is very much one of those things that doesn’t feel very appealing to me, but not for much of a specific reason.
Python is another; I hate python, it feels like pulling teeth to use, I actively avoid apps using python, but there really isn’t much reason behind it.

@RL_Dane @sotolf That's an interestinc comparison. That's not what I was thinking; I was thinking more of the Rust mindset of "whatever you're doing, make sure you get these things right before continuing." "these things" would include accounting for every case, memory safety, optimization, etc.

I think what he may be referring to is the Python-style of TOOOWTDI (There's Only One [good] Way to Do It) design prescriptivism, versus a more Perl-style TMTOWTDI ("Tom W. Toady"--There's More Than One Way To Do It) -just-enough-rope-to-hang-yourself flexibility.

@RL_Dane @sotolf What I enjoyed about writing rust was how well thought out you can tell everything is; everything is accounted for and there don't seem to be any loopholes that might cause issues later. The syntax is tough, but I mostly saw that as something that would get better with exposure to it.

Rust gets a lot of love from a lot of people. I can't say whether it's warranted or not, because I haven't even dipped my toes into it yet.
Gotta say (showing my age/crotchetiness), I just wished languages used "function," not "fun", "fn", "f", "", whatever. :P
If you really don't want to type more, put that intelligence in the blasted editor. Don't make the language harder to read.

I wish I kept it up.
I only had that from about 2000-2002.
Then work blog(spot|ger) blog in the mid-naughties, but I can't remember the URL (not a domain) for the life of me.
I also had a WordPress.com blog from 2007 that I updated sporadically until about 2014.
Facebook and Twitter (initially joined both in 2008) really killed my blogging drive, but it's coming back now.
Just not sure what's the easiest AND FOSSiest [sic?!?] way to host it.
