We were just talking about that sad day when I'll have to give up my computer for an upgrade, even though it's working fine. Windows has sent me links for laptops, but I don't want that. If I have to get a new computer, I want either an all in one like I have now, or a tower. Anyone have any advice? And please no one say switch to Linux.

@anakin78z Not really, now. I know on my first computer I found I could turn it off and still use the computer just fine. Wonder if you can still do that with a tower.

@Fragglemuppet It's been probably 5 years since we got our last one, but we've liked the HP all in one computers. We've had several over the years.

A tower would probably be cheaper.

It really comes down to what you want to do with it as far as what kind you get. My main advice would be to get as big of a primary SSD as you can afford, and as much RAM as you can afford. Those two things will make a big difference in the long run.

Out of ignorance and curiosity: Do you even need a monitor?
