GitHub straight up blocked a woman from the community org for writing this in the discussion about Grok in Copilot. The entire situation is growing exponentially more distasteful the longer they choose to censor rather than respond. This is just so, so shameful.

don’t just repost this here; please speak out in the discussion itself. make your voice heard. make it clear that this support of Grok is unacceptable and that Aki should be unblocked https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/171322

Internal sources saying she's literally the only user they've ever blocked in the community org. And for THAT??? Are you fucking kidding me

@davidcelis@xoxo.zone I mean you didn't but I just feel bad for this Aki person trying to reason with Microsoft instead of just simply deleting their account and moving on. And also the people below who are still commenting on Github.

@SuperDicq @davidcelis network effect prevents deletion of accounts unless you create throwaway ones (effort).

@davidcelis@xoxo.zone I personally don't think the refusal to use Github is nihilistic at all, I see that as activism.

I mean if you want to post your comments about your dissatisfaction before you leave that's fine. But nothing in these post seem to point out that these people will actually delete their accounts after this.

So I have the feeling that these people will just keep complaining while not actually doing the thing that hurts profit driven companies like Microsoft the most, the refusal to use their platforms.

@SuperDicq Why should it be “shut up and move on” instead of “speak out and move on”? i dont expect them to respond or change their decision, but im not gonna be all about that fatalistic nihilism.

@SuperDicq what i’m saying is that telling people to leave quietly without saying anything is nihilistic. i’ll be moving on and hope others will, but obviously many people won’t make the move. but for the people who do, i hope it’s not quietly.
