@W6KME@ai6yr Didn't Wodehouse write a short story about a delivery boy mixing up two gents' hats, and the gents kept wearing the wrong size because they refused to believe the haberdasher had made a mistake.
@ai6yr I think it's like clothes and shoes...numbers only have limited meaning and only within a single brand. I have hats-that fit well- from 7 1/4 to 7 5/8. That's a HUGE range, if you're not familiar with hat sizes.
My head measures 58.5 cm, but it's more oval than round, so I need a 60 or 61. So even that number isn't very useful. Like shoes, you just have to try hats until you find one that fits.
Most brands lack QC finely grained enough to commit to an actual measurement in cm.
