For the non-US folks, this is a 100% real message from the public high school regarding Wednesday’s active shooter drill.
But, you know, books bad.

I'm a gun owner. And this infuriates me in a way that I can't even put in to words. There is technology out there that can bar code shells/casings.
Not only does it connect to the weapon used but I'm sure it could be connected to the box/batch of ammo purchased.
And I've said for years that there should be regulations/restrictions that add an extreme tax on ammo that is then reduced to zero at time of purchase when a driver's license/ID is shown that has a weapon's safety designation assigned to the license/ID from taking a class. The class should be taken every three to four years.
It's ridiculous that we don't have stricter regulation on weapons that are extremely efficient at killing people.

@tayfonay this drives me up the wall. It's absurd that we approach everything this way. Don't look at common sense gun regulations, just construct elaborate defense measures that will never be enough.
14 was telling me about some of the things they ask students to do like barricade doors and use straps to hold the door shut, and grab anything that can be used as a weapon. Against a presumably white teenage boy with an AR-15.
