@binarydigit Different era though... I have a friend who hires a cleaner simply because life gets in the way. So many responsibilities and simply not enough time to do everything + have fun too.

@binarydigit @von Money can’t make you happy, but it can solve a lot of problems and thereby make more space for happiness. My understanding is that spending money on avoiding things you hate doing generally provides greater satisfaction than buying new possessions.

@binarydigit Grew up in a household where we had our chores, and still do some of them to this day. But we have someone coming in once a week, for decades. Ironing, vacuuming, general cleaning. Most people I know do the same. The lady that does this for us started working at my mother-in-law over 20 years ago, and is now doing it at our place, and at four other family member's places.

@binarydigit It is pretty cool. She is, by now, somewhat a part of the family. She knows everyone, met a ton of babies that are now grown up, and we do care a lot about her.
