   Ever think of older pop culture and how it might've been received when it was new instead of just an old curiosity? Like tonight's #Monsterdon for example. We mostly know the 80s movie and play, and some of us learn about the 1960 movie and watch it just for the novelty, knowing the story and doing comparisons. But what about people in 1960 who didn't know what was coming?

   I think about that with a lot of older things like that.

     @diazona Oh no, I don't try and relive a hypothetical experience. I was just thinking of it now because I read a couple of the Youtube comments from people talking about the first time they saw it.

     @Fragglemuppet Personally I tend to ignore that line of thought during #Monsterdon ... it makes it more fun for me to experience the movie "organically" than to try to reconstruct how viewers in its day would have thought of it

     Though it's very rare that I've seen any version of a #Monsterdon movie before
