  Ah, I see your problem. You think the point of creating art is external validation of your creation. Haha, no. The point of art is you created some art. Expressed something in a way unique to you. If you did that, your art is a success, even if no one likes it. Even if you don't. Don't worry, it won't be that long before you make something *you* appreciate, and maybe not even as long as that before you make something someone else appreciates.

  Related, many people seem held back by ‘what would people think?’ And shy away from making or creating or learning artistic or creative things.
  No one cares! Make bad art! Play mediocre music!
  We have all been told myths about ourselves. And we start believing it. (You are not good at art. You can’t sing)
  Explore, and explode these myths. So whatever you want that interests you.

  @skinnylatte I feel like a lot of people are unaware of how much FUN it is to make mediocre music with other people who are also having fun doing it. A hundred years of recorded professional performances have allowed us to forget the upsides of amateur music-making, no matter how hard various flavors of punk and folk have tried to remind us.

  I pretty regularly learn new crafting techniques, and it's so amazing to start being *bad* at something, and watching myself improve. It's absolutely brilliant 🤩
