     @grammasaurus Oh, there are lots of cameras in the stores, but the parking lot readers allow them to follow the people on their cameras to the store, and the license plate readers can be used to determine the cars. But, I suspect they also are using license plate reading to profile who their customers are for marketing reasons, too.

     @ai6yr Some kind of paywall so I can only read part of the article, but does it say WHY these cameras are being put in parking lots?

     Surely there aren’t that many stolen cars ….must be something else. Like just generally tracking movements of everyone in the US???
