@FemaleIsNotAFeeling I've never forgotten when I had my first. I was worried that I wouldn't bond with him, that I wasn't ready, that I'd made a mistake.
I was having a coffee with the other new mums at the hospital when we heard a baby cry. I knew straight away that it was my William.
Then I knew what it meant to be a mum.

It reminds me of how in a crowd of hundreds of thousands, each penguin can distinguish its own baby's cry.
Instincts are strong! The bond between mother and child is undeniably one of the strongest things on earth.
I remember when my friend had her first. The baby was newborn and she cried and my friend started leaking a little bit of milk through her shirt instantly. She was like oh my god what is happening? Her body was so in tune with her baby and its needs. Really is a beautiful thing.
