Now, something I wanted to tackle for a while. I like #Apple #Safari a lot. Don’t want to switch browsers. However, they don’t let you customise search engines on #iOS. And I that #AI infested google is just terrible.
One way to turn it of is ?udm=14 as search arg or using -ki.
This extension https://apps.apple.com/de/app/customize-search-engine/id6445840140 is #OpenSource
and does exactly what I want and has even the #Google #Konami code predefined

@rotnroll666 They don’t? But I have used DuckDuckGo as the default search engine on Safari on iPhone forever. Is this only available in the EU?

@GreenSkyOverMe you can pick predefined ones as required by law but you can’t configure them, like adding a custom argument to the search URL

@armin @GreenSkyOverMe oh I mean why iOS doesn’t let me configure a custom url. Probably they didn’t find the right prompt or so to program it.

@rotnroll666 @GreenSkyOverMe you can use Keyword Search to override the default search engine - that way I'm using my own SearXNG instance…
