i think peak open source development is you implementing a feature you won't use, in a codebase you don't control, for a person you don't understand, leaving them happy in the end

    A path for building on Windows has been added. Rather than a native build, it is a cross-compile with MXE done in a Docker container, which facilitates several hacks that were needed to get it work...
