   @linos @magikh oooh I just discovered that PieFed is not available via YunoHost 😭

   disclaimer: I do have a dormant Piefed account that I used for testing a year ago... I just want to have my own so I don't have to pay for it / donate.

   If I were to donate to every software I use, I'd go bankrupt (that's why I'm self-hosting now... and donating to other things like Mastodon that I actively use)

     @_elena @magikh In my optinion hosting Lemmy or similar makes the most sense, when you want to host the channels yourself, but for participating, an account probably enough at most times.

     @_elena I recommend you to host Piefed instead, it seems to be less resource intensive, more developped and it have some nice features:

     - Interoperability with PeerTube
     - Crossposts
     - Flairs
     - Gallery view
     - Consolidate communities into feeds
     - Better UX (for example, you can directly search in communities)

     Also Lemmy devs are trying to push their tankie ideas
