     @strypey @mho @tangle_news @feed @index @index @feed @index @feed @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index Given that the server is an important identifying part of the handle (since users with the same username would appear the same without it) most Fedi clients do not remove the server part of the handle unless the viewer is on the same server. So it isn't a big deal to change the username, I'm frankly just glad to find more news orgs on Fedi.

     How many have you used? I've used dozens, over as many years, and I can assure you that's not the case. *Most* apps don't display anything after the second @, see screenshots from Mastodon web app, Moshidon Android app, and Enafore.

     @strypey Frankly, it's not a hill either of us need to die on because even in the screenshots you gave, you can see that all your clients actually *do* display a server. Take a look :) we're both talking about @ mentions but when it comes to viewing a post, *all five* of the screenshotted clients show the poster's server, which is what matters for following a news source.
     At any rate, @ index isn't the best name, so they could change it for *that* reason, as you were saying.

     @index isn't a meaningful handle. The Ghost team clearly intended it as a placeholder. Even just changing it to @news would be better.

     Is this really a hill worth dying on?
