     @RustyCrab I actually carry around a lighter in case I ever need to maliciously start a fire, light someone up, or a survival situation. Its also a good tool. I use it for wiring things (melting solder butt connectors and heat shrink)

     I lost a $300 switchblade that I accidentally had on me when I was about to go through security for my sister's college graduation. Had an "oh fuck" moment while standing in line, and then in what was retrospectively a very conspicuous moment of panic I stepped out of line and went around the corner to toss it in the bushes. Pretty sure one of the security guys went and grabbed it like a minute later because it was gone when I came back.

     I thought about palming it behind my phone, but in the heat of the moment risking a confrontation with security at my sister's graduation just didn't seem worth it. I should've left it at the hotel, it was my fault for slipping it in my pocket out of habit.

     I wasn't even sure what the laws were on switchblades in the state (looked it up later, they're less restrictive than my home state) and since the university police running the checkpoints were functionally equivalent to the regular city police, I figured it wasn't worth a risking a weapons charge. If it was a folder it'd be one thing, but we have retarded laws regarding switchblades specifically that vary widely across local jurisdictions.

     Don't forget the classic "I'M NOT RESISTING DAWG I'M NOT RESISTING" while you can see the suspect visibly resisting on bodycam. I hate cops, but once you watch enough bodycam footage you kinda understand why back in the good ol' days they'd just beat the absolute shit out of suspects with billy clubs and tell booking they found 'em like that.
