Good morning to everyone except UI developers.

@BowsacNoodle If only you knew how many times I've ranted at my software engineer friend about this. Mostly because of highlight expansion shit. Oh, I put my mouse cursor over it? Here's a bunch of shit I didn't want.
It's like the live button and the volume button on the YouTube player. If you're sliding across the screen to hit the Live button sometimes the volume button will fucking expand and push it out of the way so you click the volume Instead.
TL;DR: I fucking hate Indians.

@Eiswald I have a hunch that it's people simultaneously trying to copy industry trends while doing something that's big wow factor to set themselves apart. The result is low functioning mediocrity that wastes resources and pisses off people who just want a functional app. So yeah, Indians.

@Eiswald @BowsacNoodle More than ten years ago it became obvious that the UI changes were at minimum a psychological tool for engagement, posts specifically expressed how changes happened "right after (the user) got used to them." Probably scheduled the manipulation timetable too tightly for a few seasons. Ever since I use alternative frontends + yt-dlp for content sites.
I refrained from posting in the 'do you actually use YT and its interface' thread, but I am waiting for another shoe to drop as to why it is like that. Something in the line of the micro-strobe on screens affecting moods study findings from years ago.
P.s. but the ugliness is completely because of incompetence + disgusting and interrupted sense of aesthetics.

@WeissenSocken88 The IRL YouTuber or the person he's "playing"? Either way, he's right about this.

@HonkHonkBoom >give the the option to keep using the old one without freaking breaking it.
This is one of those things that every UI overhaul should consider. They obviously don't care about bloat, so the extra storage and maybe RAM needed should be NBD. You let people choose, and if most people are on the classic UI, you start slowly tweaking your new UI and put a highlight on the update note in app (UI - changed X feature to resemble classic UI functionality) and see if that changes things.
My biggest criticism of modern UI is abandonment of "Network" and "Table" based UI wherein components from one node can link to or be access from another node, like vines allowing you to swing between branches on a tree or comprehensive list of choices that fall under a category. Android actually was moving toward this correctly for a while but has moved away from it in favor of copying the iOS tree rigidity without consistency. I want them to make things take less clicks to get to and suggest possible alternatives that make sense (NOT the garbage way that Microsoft does this).
