  I'll just say conversely, GnR's appetite was one of the shittiest recording of had era. Don't get me wrong, the album is fucking solid and all of those guys can play, and the album was a paradigm shift, but the actual recording is shit. There's errors, pick noises, notes slightly off pitch, etc. They didn't have the studio / financial backing when they recorded that album. They weren't famous yet.

  No, but I do listen to Testament often. I have a Testament playlist on mpd for when I'm playing Quake III. It just fits that game well.
  
  And yeah. I'm a metal head. I'm primarily a drummer, and have a large sonar designer series kit with two bass drums, two snares, 5 rack, 2 floor, 5 crashes, two hats, two rides, three splashes, a China, and six electronic drums I run via midi into ableton.
  
  I also own a full Mesa Boogie Stack with a triple rectifier tubed 6l6 and a Randall thrasher tubed 6l6 + el34 (you can mix tubes in that amp), and a mesa m9 carbine bass amp with a 4x10" + 15" cab. I have a bunch of guitars (6 and 8 string), basses (4 and 6 string), keyboards, midi controllers, monitors, etc.

  Unfortunately, the only stuff I have publically available is directly tied to my real name at the USPTO.
  
  I am working on some new stuff though and am taking a different approach this time. I've been using tidal cycles to write and using a laptop as a midi controller over rtpmidi for my DAW (I used to use studio one, but got hooked on ableton because it's far easier to write using clips). It took me a while to wrap my head around the coding, but I came up with a real clean and slick rubric to code on top of that should allow me to write way faster than I have been able too historically when I had to edit enter and edit midi by hand (either with a keyboard or my push, or with a mouse). It also allows me to make the midi stuff sound more like a natural player without much effort or editing on my part.
  
  I only came across tidal cycles recently, and when I saw the raw power, I actually abandoned another project I was working on.
  
  I've never used haskell (tidal cycles is based in haskell), so I had to wrap my head around that too. I had to RTFM for a couple of weeks.
  
  Once I have something done, I'll post it.
