I'm at a restaurant near me called Tokyo Maki, and it looks kind of like it started off as a Japanese place 20 years ago, but now half the menu options are Korean.
The menus and signs are all in English, Japanese and Korean. They have kbbq hotplates and seem to be promoting the Korean options more heavily than the Japanese, but most of the decor items are Japanese
They are playing Korean ballads but that's not a definitive indicator of anything.
I have tried listening to what language the staff speak to each other in, but they're quiet and I can't tell.
I want to know because if it's actually mostly Korean people working here, I can speak to them in Korean (a little bit). But I don't know how to ask!
Anyway I ordered kimchi jjigae (stew) for the first time and it's delicious but I am making a mess of myself. 😅
Also a sweet potato latte that is really yummy and had a cute puppy spoon hanging over the edge of the cup
