@Brookryn I remember we did her in art at school, when we still had the woman who was very down to earth, but by God, you didn't want to get on the wrong side of her, and who actually had some talent. The she left when she had her children and oh Lord, the walking disaster we got in her place 🤦 she couldn't teach, she seemed to be vacant all the time, she made us do nothing ever but still life, easier option than teaching, she smelled of mothballs...forever after to be known as Mothy...and stale fags, she also didn't have a great deal of talent and took refuge in the modern "art" sphere, as that sort do, because it covers a multitude of sins. Put me right off and nothing was ever achieved, because of her and the fact that there were many dossing in the class, seeing it as an easy option, so the lessons, such as they were became an exercise in chaos. She was ripe for baiting too and that also happened a lot.

@HebrideanHecate I had a wonderful art teacher in primary before a couple terrible nightmares later on, they were both frustrated artists who hated anyone who didn't want to do art in exactly the way they preferred. One woman actually added a darker black wash over a crayon portrait I'd done of my dog when she was a puppy, she had been trying to force me to do it for weeks, then just went into my portfolio to do it herself. I kicked off and ran it under the tap while shouting about how unethical she was. I think my mom still has it on the wall as I'd made such a scene about it being ruined. -

@Brookryn Ugh, yes, this can be a problem in school, not sure so much these days but certainly in the past, the frustrated whatevers and took it out on the kids. The art mistress we had in primary was lovely, she was a Miss Barr, the sort who would have been described as "A spinster of this parish", she had MS, poor soul, and drove a blue mini, we loved her. Of course, our infants mistress was a fiend from Hell absolutely ghastly woman, then there was respite in the "middle room", and down to the Headmaster, who was fucking psychotic and would be arrested today, for the last two years. Quite frankly, most of us were bug eyed because of him, and he had those, like me, whom he loathed even more than the rest, he was even a total bastard to his own son, he was a lot older than we were.
