   Lots of things suck, but I got a huge bag of many types of plums and pluots, and an unreasonable amount of strawberries, from the farmers who were packing up to leave the farmers market.

     I was wondering why the farmers market in downtown Monterey goes late (til 6pm) but they leave SF around 4pm. I realized it’s coz they are all packing up to return to Salinas / Monterey. I should figure out a way to hitch a ride with them some day!

     For a person cooking for yourself or one other person, the civic center market in SF on Wed and Sundays is really a good deal. If you go >2ish, you’ll get your pick of dollar bags and other deals. And if you use EBT, they do a dollar match at this market specifically so it doubles your buying power there.

     @skinnylatte I got myself some rambutans at the farmer’s market. Can’t get them in any of the grocery stores, so I was pretty happy to find them.
