What I find irritating though is the number of people who appear to have some scientific background, who seem to have no problem however with enthusiastically embracing black-box genAI systems as a cure-all. With anecdotal evidence seeming to be enough justification.
The same people who would (of course!) scoff at things like homeopathy because of it being unscientific, apply less rigorous measures against genAI than they would against quackery. The more I see this, the less I get it.
