     This is not an issue of Jew vs Muslim, or antisemitism vs anti-antisemitism.

     This is an issue of basic humanity. This is an issue of genocide and other extreme human rights abuses.

     And history will not be kind to the people who support Israel because of their fears as a Jewish person, their love of their "ancestral homeland", or their belief in holy scriptures.

     Some Palestinians in Gaza have resorted to eating animal feed, grass, and even sand in order to not be as hungry. They are being murdered en masse at food distribution sites. Nobody can go in or leave, and everyone there is literally in danger of being murdered by Israel.

     In the obvious contradiction between ethnoreligious nationalism and democracy, I choose democracy every time. Even if it's an ethnoreligion I belong to.

     And I am firmly of the conviction that history will absolve me. Our children, Jewish and gentile alike, will eventually look at the images of the starving children in Gaza and wonder why the world did nothing to stop it.

     Just as I have heard passed down stories of how some of my own ancestors faced the horrors of the European fascists and also read the memoirs of people who survived, wondering how someone let a political movement so vile and beastly as the Nazis gain absolute power.

     I support democracy and socialism for all.

     In the idea of the Jewish and democratic state, something's gotta give.

     And I hate to say it, but Israel has chosen Jewishness over democracy, and the controversial prediction of Judeo-Nazism by Yeshayahu Leibowitz has become the truth.

     We are watching Gaza and the West Bank slowly being taken over by people who are, for a lack of a better phrase, hardcore genocidal fascists.

     The inevitable result of Israeli state policy was the escalation of peaceful resistance as seen in the First Intifada to violent militancy as seen on October 7th.

     The reality is that Israel as a Jewish state will never bring itself security, for the same reasons that apartheid South Africa or fascist Europe never found security: Zionism has created a social class of dispossessed people through supremacist policy. The dialectical development of the Israeli state building project has proceeded in such a way that it has created the very precondition for its own annihilation.

     The only way forward for the people of the levant, Jewish as well as Palestinian Arab, is peace and equality through the end of the occupation, the replacement of a Jewish state with a democratic state, and reparations for the ongoing Nakba that began in 1948.
