@sun I don't have to imagine, I see how it's going in Russia. They push for a de-anonymization wherever possible (through accounts at Gosuslugi.ru etc.), and then make it a crime to share or refer "disparaging" materials. I know people who started to self-moderate in a big way in recent 3 years. Didn't take any super-duper AI to flush the dissent.
@zaitcev well in the usa I think we used to systematically avoid things like that while allowing technical censorship but with the way thigns are going I am sure we'll get these laws too in ten years or less
@sun Maybe, although U.S. is going to be the last place remaining where the freeze peach retreats to die. People in Japan were already sent to prison for complaining about Kurds turning Saitama into a cesspit.
