     @welkin7 @Free_Press It's running on an old gaming PC in my living room. The line is a little over $100/month, but I use it for other things.

     There really is very little work to do after it's installed. There are occasional updates, and the usual stuff on the server. If you're not experienced with Linux, it might be a challenge, though there are plenty of people willing to help.

     There would be a lot more work if it's public and you're moderating it.

     Mine is a private server. If I made it public, there would be other considerations and more expense (because I'd want to either move it to a data center, or get it its own line).

     @steter @Free_Press Wow. How much is the annual or monthly cost of running this mastodon instance? both in terms of electricity, bandwidth and man hours? A rough estimate would be good enough.
