@dangillmor This is fucking hilarious. Epic level mansplaining. 🤣 🤡
@dangillmor Well restrained by @Mer__edith.
@mcSlibinas @ulfi @dangillmor How dense are you guys?? She specifically said no, and we all know the only "usefulness" of these "tools" is deception and exploitation. No. There will not be "AI" in Signal.
@ulfi @dalias @dangillmor The Signal Technology Foundation is nonprofit organisation and that's make key difference. In theory if AI will proove usefulness Signal can use AI tools (wild guess), but there's no push from investors.
@dalias @dangillmor would be funny if there is a LLM integration in signal the next years 😂
@mcSlibinas @ulfi @dangillmor No. There is no such thing as it "getting smart". The entire idea is the opposite of smart. Especially in the context of privacy and messaging. You absolutely do not want anyone or anything "smart" reading your confidential messages and acting on their contents. That's contrary to the entire purpose.
@dalias @ulfi @dangillmor because she is smart. And The Signal Technology Foundation is smart. And AI is dumb.
But if AI will get smart in future?
Every claim from every bussinnes, (profit, non profit) is just a claim.
You can believe if you choose to believe.
@dalias @mcSlibinas @ulfi @dangillmor also, signals claim to faim is their thorough end to end encryption. I can't see any way a LLM would be able to improve the app without scaring away all users, because to work with the text, that end to end encryption would be compromised.
@mcSlibinas @psperling @ulfi @dangillmor You clearly haven't thought about any of this and don't know what you're talking about, and are just being obnoxiously contrarian in line with the original mansplaining douche we were dunking on.
@psperling @dalias @ulfi @dangillmor AI tool to check connection? Warning tool for scammers or ICE?
I'm not a developer, so i can't say what you can do with a good tool (if AI will become good tool in future).
